• Hampers – thanks to your generosity we have been able to fill 2 Hampers and added 3 more prizes to the raffle in aid of the Salvation Army -well worth a punt.
• Roadworks – Denis met with the Highways reps yesterday and they are confident that they will be able to provide access to the club while the work is being carried out on Bridewell Lane and Sth Walsham Road. There could be a delay of 5 mins or so while the Gateman clears the way. We would recommend you approach from the village .
• Jacket –  Someone has taken a Navy Superdry Jacket (L) from the men’s changing room on Monday Evening the 19th -please return to the desk.
• Junior Tournament – our thanks to Tim and all his helpers for organising an excellent Junior Tournament last Sunday. It will therefore be repeated next year.

• Vouchers – we have a new supply of £100 off holidayvouchers at Potters, either Hopton or 5 Lakes. These are for those who have never been before. They are on display on the entrance noticeboard -help yourselves.
• Hampers – we do the draw for the 5 prizes including 2 fantastic hampers on Friday 13thFeb . Get buying and leave the money in the box clearly marked ‘Salvation Army,’ under the large cheque on the wall.
• Summer league – entry forms now on display
• Webcams – no your visit to Specsavers has not improved your vision that much, but the webcams are all now a lot clearer thanks to Denis’sapprentice, Bill, working his magic.
• Oops -Thorpe Travel contact phone number is 01603 700800 ( missed off last News)-booklets are around the club.
• Water Bottles – we have quite a collection of water bottles left in the club. Have a look in the box on the table if you have lost one.
• Federation County Finals -Congratulations to Jenny winning the Ladies Singles, Leo the U25s and Ryan, Graham and David winning the Mens Triples -now off to Lincolnfor the National Finals.
• Coffee Machine –a very swish new one now in place and coffee beans doing a grand job -70p a cup.

Congratulations – To Lynne, Sandra, Barbara and Jenny on their victory in the fours over Gallow in the Area Final at NBC. The girls are now off to the National Championships in Nottingham at the end of March -good luck ladies bring back some silverware to Acle. 

Federation – and one we missed, congrats to Jenny R who with her son Rambo and  fellow clubmate Ian won the Norfolk Federation Triples and are also off to the National Finals this time to Lincoln. ( back on the Christmas card list -Jenny)

Coffee– new machine serving some tasty coffee via beans, hence slight delay in delivery due to the guy in the back crushing the beans. We will request a return of Bovril for the hate it/love it mob.

Date -a date for your diary the club finals will be on Sunday 29th March in the afternoon and evening. 

Sponsor – we still have no car dealership as a sponsor of the club – come on good people, now is the time of year when you are changing vehicles, do not sign up to purchase, until the dealer signs a Partnership with the club. Denis will do the rest. 

Stitching -we have ordered the repair of the stitching to the carpet. 

Area Finals – We have 7 individuals or teams reached the Area Finals of Competitions. The Ladies Fours have already won theirs so good luck to the rest. Let’s see lots of the Marsh Harrier shirts at the National Finals.

• Summer leagues – entry formas are now on display.
• Travel Vouchers – Denis met with Rachel Jackson of Thorpe Travel last week and she has offered members a £50 voucher and the club a £25 donation should members wish to book with her Company, Contact details -Rachel Jackson, Branch Manager, Thorpe Travel part of Fred Olsen Travel Agents. -01603 700800-thorpetravel@fredolsentravel.co.uk . There are a few booklets around the club.
• WOW -Ladies Marsh Harriers must have been hungry while hovering for prey on Saturday, and in this case the prey was Lowestoft Railway. . With block wins of 45-3, 31-10, 28-4 and 29-3 there must have been some records broken with a 133-20 final scoreline in the 1st Division.
• Coffee Machine -we have ordered a new machine -it appears that kicking it did not cure the problems.

• Coffee machine – sorry about lack of coffee but mechanics( 3 so far) are trying to repair.
• Coffee table -just a reminder that there are a number of games in the drawers of the coffee table, for use by members if they get fed up watching a match.
• November Weekendat Potters – we have no vacancies for single accommodation over the weekend.
• Re-branding -Acle Ladies A will be, and are, known as ‘Acle Marsh Harriers,’ Ladies B will be ‘Acle Kites ‘and Ladies C will be ‘Acle Swifts.’ Denis did make a suggestion but this was met with a loud NO and a slap.
• Salvation Army Raffle – 5 very good prizes, including 2 large hampers -draw will be made on the 13hFebruary. And if lucky will save the day for those who forgot Valentine’s Day.
• Norfolk U25s -reports back say our reps in the team played very well indeed.
• Howdens – just a reminder ,as it seems a popular time of year to be renewing insurances ,that members should contact our Sponsors for a very competitive quote ,for car and house insurance. Road Closure Latest

The scheme to resurface South Walsham Road and various other roads in Acle has been deferred to the next financial year 2026/27. The works are now intended to be carried out during daytime hours over the next summer holidays.

This decision has been made due to ongoing emergency works being undertaken by Anglian Water on B1140 Panxworth Road, which lies within our planned diversion route; this reduced our delivery window, preventing us from carrying out the planned works. As these works are outside of our control and significantly impact our traffic management, it is not feasible to proceed as originally scheduled.

We sincerely apologise for any inconvenience this delay may cause and appreciate that changes to timelines can be disruptive. We would like to thank you for your patience and understanding while these essential works are reprogrammed. We will provide updates on the dates and times of the works closer to the scheduled period.
